LT- Analyze the six Renaissance values and apply them to today's world.

Renaissance values review- In 5 sentences or less, convey which Renaissance value you think we need to focus more on in our American society and which we need less of.  Explain WHY.

We also had a discussion about our own values, based on the scenerio on the back of the Ren. Values reading.

Wednesday 9/29 and Thursday 9/30

LTs- 1. Review knowledge of Roman empire and Middle Ages by completing a graphic organizer. 2. Discuss and evaluate the Renaissance values.

Use the History Frames (located in the absentee folders) to review the Middle Ages and Roman Empire.  Copy from a class mate.  Read through the Renaissance Values (located in the absentee folder).  Complete the back regarding your values and be prepared to share in discussion tomorrow.

Tuesday 8/28

LTs- 1. Analyze the significance of the Ottoman Empire. 2. Evaluate your mind/concept maps and your knowledge of the Ottoman Empire. 3. Review you knowledge of Roman Empire and Middle Ages.

Looked at World Religions and European Geography quiz.  Evaluated the Concept maps with a scoring guide then turned in. Started verbal review of Roman Empire.

Monday 8/27

LT- 1. Analyze the significance of the Ottoman Empire. 2. Use skills to better comprehend higher level reading.
Brief discussion of Ottoman article.  Focus on the significance of the empire.  Work on mind map of the article- due tomorrow.

Friday 8/24

LT- 1. Analyze the importance of the Ottoman Empire 2. Practice skils which will help you comprehend reading at a higher level.
World Religions and European Geography quiz.  Started actively (underline, write in margins, etc.) reading Ottoman Empire article (it is in the absentee files in the classroom).
Monday, in class, students will create a mind map, based on the Ottoman Empire article.

Wednesday 8/22 and Thursday 8/23

LT- I will be able to locate historically and politically significant European nations.
Finished article summaries. Completed geography mapwork (copies in absentee files).  Handed out textbooks.  Played an internet geography game on the smartboard to polish knowledge of country locations.  Hmwk- Study for quiz tomorrow!  It is over World Religions and European geography.

Tuesday 8/21

Discussed findings of 5 major world religions (chart).  Most classes started summary of articles, we'll finish this next class period.  Remember- quiz over religions and European geography (we'll cover next class period) is on Friday.

Monday 8/20

Students finished working on religions charts with partners.  Everyone printed off their articles and got ready to tell the class about them tomorrow.  Tomorrow we'll also discuss the info in the chart and check textbooks out.  Remember, we'll have a quiz over this Friday along with European geography that we'll cover this week.
