Tuesday 10/30

LT- 1. I can show my mastery of Roman Numerals on Quiz.  2. I can explain how Spain was an example of Absolute Monarchy, with 3 examples.
Roman Numeral Quiz (make up in test room on Wed. morning. 2103, bring your ID).
Look at Exploration "Quest".  Review Divine Right/Look at Spain notes. Absolute Monarchy in Spain Game (see absentee folder).  Read each question and circle the correct answer out of the two options.  This is all you have to do.

Monday 10/29

LT- I can accurately identify the characteristics of divine right.  I can identify and use the correct Roman Numerals.
1st hour took Geography portion of their test.
In pink packet (pick it up in absentee folder), read and complete Divine Right of Kings.  Review Roman Numerals for quiz.  From lecture notes (in absentee folder) read Roman Numerals I and II. Quiz is Tuesday!

Friday 10/26

LT- I can demonstrate my knowledge of Exploration through assessment.  I can understand terminology, issues, and the candidates in the upcoming election.

Exploration/European Geography "Quest" (quiz/test).  If you were absent, you will need to take the "quest" on Wednesday morning, in the testing room (2103).  It will take, roughly, 30 minutes to take the test.  The room is open from 7:35-8:35 and you need to bring your ID.

We also had an election discussion, which you will not need to make up if you were absent.

Wednesday 10/24 and Thurs 10/25

LT- I can honestly evaluate my Exploration Project.  I can actively synthesize information about Exploration.

Returned grades and feedback from Exploration project.  Discussed highlights of Exploration.  Homework- prepare for Exploration quiz on Friday- including Europe map (same countries quizzed on earlier this year, need to make sure you STILL know them).

Tuesday 10/23

LT- I will gain knowledge of exploration through actively listening.
Exploration projects presented.  Prepare for quiz on Friday over Exploration by reading sections (or at least skimming to make sure info was covered) in book each night.  Pages covered today: 109, 110-114, 115-110, 120-123.

Monday 10/22

Multiple Choice and Constructed Response portion of test.  Please see me to arrange a time to make this up.

Wednesday 10/3 and Thursday 10/4

Finished up any notes on Scientific Revolution that were left over.  Students put notebooks together and prepared for test.

Monday 10/8

LT- I can demonstrate my knowledge of the Renaissance, Reformation, and Scientific Revolution on my essay.

Class took the essay portion of their test today.  If you were absent, I'd like for you to make up the test Wednesday morning, in the test make up room.  Please check in with me on Tuesday, to let me know if this works for you.

Students also turned in notebooks.  Please have them prepared on the day you return.

Tuesday 10/2

LT- I can communicate, to a partner, what I believe are the 2 most significant events/people, etc. in Sci Rev history so far, and why.

Monday 10/1

LT- I can demonstrate an understanding of the Counter/Catholic Reformation through my concept map.

Evaluate and collect concept map.  We discussed the Counter-Reformation.  Some classmates took notes, so you can get notes if you want.  They will not be in your notebook though.

Passed out information regarding the format of the test and the essay.  Test will be in 2 parts- 10/5 and 10/8.

Friday 9/28

If you had a Holocaust Research assignment Re-do, it was due today.  Read through Counter-Reformation readings (in absentee folders).  Complete a concept map over these events/concepts.  Due Monday.
